We run club projects for each of the Lions Club Global Goals:
Youth Humanitarian
Every journey begins with a single step. One act of service, one encouraging word, one gift of generosity is often all it takes to bring hope where it’s needed most.
Over the last 100 years, the kindness of Lions and Leos has multiplied across borders, oceans, and continents. With over 1.4 million members, we now have an opportunity to truly change our world, locally and globally.
That’s why we’re uniting our global service around five (and growing!) areas of need. These Global Causes present significant challenges to humanity, at home and abroad, and we believe it’s our turn to meet them.

The Oak Ridges Lions Club is excited to announce a monumental milestone – we’re celebrating 75 years of service to the community! Since our founding in 1950, we have been dedicated to helping others, fostering community spirit, and supporting local and global causes that improve lives.
Throughout the years, our club has been involved in numerous initiatives, from supporting healthcare and providing aid to the visually impaired, to environmental protection, youth programming, and more. We’ve been privileged to serve side-by-side with passionate community members, sponsors, and fellow Lions to make Oak Ridges a better place for everyone.
As we celebrate this incredible milestone, we want to say THANK YOU to all who have supported and worked alongside us over the years. To honor this achievement, we’ll be hosting special events and reflecting on the impact we’ve made together. Stay tuned for updates!
Here’s to the next 75 years of service, growth, and community impact! Together, we are stronger. 💛🦁
This year we are proud to say we are:
"Recipients of the City of Richmond Hill Community and Cultural Grant Program".
On February 12, 2025, our club proudly donated $2,000 to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) in support of their Mobile Youth Walk-In Clinic (MOBYSS). This vital program provides confidential mental health care to youth (12-25) across York Region and South Simcoe, offering a safe space staffed by a nurse practitioner, a youth mental health worker, and a peer support specialist.
We were honored to tour the incredible MOBYSS bus and see firsthand how our donation will help provide essential services to young people in need. This program relies entirely on community support, and we are proud to contribute to its continued success.

On February 11th we had the privilege of visiting 360ºkids "The Hub" to present a $3,000 donation in support of their incredible youth initiatives. 💙
This contribution will help restock their pantry, provide bedding, and support their mission to assist at-risk youth in our community. The name 360ºkids reflects their holistic approach—ensuring young people have the resources, guidance, and care they need to rebuild their lives.
Serving over 3,500 youth annually, 360ºkids is a lifeline for so many. We are truly grateful for the dedicated staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to prevent youth homelessness and create pathways to safety and stability. Thank you for all that you do! 🙌

🏕️ Oak Ridges Lions Club is delighted to announce a $2000 donation to Lions Camp Dorset. This unique resort provides a vacation opportunity for dialysis patients and their families, offering a much-needed retreat where patients can receive their necessary treatments while enjoying a relaxing getaway.
Our ability to make this donation is thanks to the support we receive from Bingo World, the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association (OCGA), and the "Charitable Gaming - Community Good" program. These partnerships enable us to fund important initiatives like Camp Dorset, which relies on generous donations to continue offering its vital services and programming.
We are proud to contribute to the well-being of dialysis patients and their families, ensuring they have a place to recharge and find joy despite their medical challenges. Your support helps us make a meaningful impact on our community and beyond.
Thank you for helping us serve. Together, we are making a difference.🏕️

(Members of Hill House Hospice and Oak Ridges Lions)
We were honoured to present another $2000.00 donation on March 7th, to a wonderful organization, Hill House Hospice.
We are blessed to have such a wonderful resource for our residents right here in our own community. The services this organization provides are simply one of a kind and are especially valued for our loved ones. We were taken on a tour of the facilities and we can assure you that they are truly "just like home".. including just baked goods in the kitchen!
Our donation was especially well received because Hill House will be needing funds to expand in the future. If you'd like to assist them, please visit Hill House Hospice. We encourage you to participate or donate to an upcoming "Walk for Hill House Hospice" on May 26th hopes to raise $100,000 for this amazing cause.
On Friday, February 16th, we were thrilled to receive a "Certificate of Appreciation" during a special ceremony at Richmond Hill City Hall!
Alongside other esteemed organizations from Richmond Hill, we were honored for our club's positive contributions to the economic, cultural, and spiritual fabric of our community. Being part of this celebration, surrounded by like-minded groups and individuals dedicated to strengthening our neighborhoods and cities, was truly humbling. Congratulations to our entire Lions team for their hard work and dedication!
Let's continue to embody our motto of "Service" and bring gratitude to all those we touch.

On February 1, 2024, our club members were delighted to present a $2000.00 donation to the Canadian Mental Health Association for their Mobile Youth Walk-In Clinic (MOBYSS) Bus for Youth Program.
Recognizing the significant challenges faced by youth in York Region, particularly exacerbated by the impacts of Covid and other issues, our members felt a strong conviction to offer support. The CMHA's program plays a vital role in providing essential mental health services to young people (12-25 years) in our community, and it relies entirely on philanthropic contributions. We are confident that our donation will be put to excellent use in supporting the well-being of youth in our region.
The MOBYSS schedule can be viewed by clicking here, where you can see the various schools they currently attend throughout York Region and South Simcoe. @cmhayork
In December, we experienced the joy of playing "Santa Claus" when we visited 360ºkids "The Hub" to present them with a donation of $2000.
This contribution will support their ongoing youth programs, aimed at assisting at-risk youth comprehensively. The name "360ºkids" reflects their holistic approach, recognizing that these youth require a wide range of support to rebuild their lives. Their mission to prevent homelessness by aiding youth at risk or in crisis transition to safety and stability deeply resonates with us. Serving over 3500 youth annually, we are grateful for the opportunity to support 360kids as they continue their invaluable work in our community.
Five new Oak Ridges members attend the District New Member Orientation!
We are so pleased to say that we had 5 new members join us at the District New Member Orientation held in Stouffville on Monday night! We had the opportunity to see people we hadn't seen in a long time as well as introduce new members to lots of longstanding enthusiastic members from all around our district. We heard about amazing things that have been done all around the A-16 District in the first 6 months of this year:
33,000 Service Hours logged
173,000 People served by Lions Club Members
2nd Highest Service District in Canada
ALL FROM OUR DISTRICT ALONE!
We are proud to have been a strong part of those figures here in Ontario, for the first half of the 2022-2023 Lion year! We are terrifically excited to provide even more exciting initiatives and add to these figures for the final half of the year!.. If you want to have an incredible impact in our community and have a ton of fun at the same time, come out and join us! We'd love to have you be a part of our great club!
We are pleased to say that were once again able to donate cards for the upcoming holiday. Our Club members signed and delivered 30 Valentine Cards to our Canadian Forces Members overseas this month. We wanted to be sure they know that their sacrifice and service are not overlooked.
We also provided 120 cards to the Richmond Hill Food Bank so that they could distribute them to needy families. We’re told that these people are extremely happy to be able to show their family how much they care with these cards around the holidays.
