October 19th, 2024 - 75th Anniversary Food Drive 

Food Drive Success – Thank You to Our Amazing Community!

We want to extend a massive THANK YOU to our incredible community for your outstanding support during our recent Food Drive! Thanks to your generosity, we collected over 1,650 lbs of food and raised $275 for the Richmond Hill Food Bank! 🥫💛

We are proud and grateful to be recipients of the City of Richmond Hill Community and Cultural Grant, which continues to help us make a meaningful impact in the lives of our neighbors. Additionally, we are honored to support the Bingo World "Charitable Gaming – Community Good" initiative, which allows us to "Give Where We Live". 🙌

This is the power of community in action, and we couldn’t have achieved this without YOU! Together, we’re making a difference, one step at a time. Thank you for helping us make Oak Ridges and Richmond Hill stronger! 💪

In these unprecedented times, the need in our community is greater than ever before. Families are facing challenges they never imagined, and the demand for assistance from organizations like the Richmond Hill Food Bank has surged.

At Oak Ridges Lions Club, we understand the importance of giving back to our community, especially during times of crisis. That's why we're proud to announce our recent donation of $2000.00 to the Richmond Hill Food Bank.

January 5, 2024  Partners Helping the Community

To "Give where you Live" is a motto Rob's No Frills lives by!  Today we are thrilled to let you know that Rob and his team reached out to us to ask us to deliver over 40 turkeys which were not sold during the holidays to the Richmond Hill Food Bank!  Because of the holidays and shortages of staff and vehicles we were honoured to deliver them to the Food Bank for Rob and his team.  These turkeys were received with massive amounts of gratitude by the volunteers at the Food Bank. 

This is how we build community.  One trunk, several volunteers, 40+ turkeys = lots of grateful families!  Kudos to Rob and his team and the volunteers at the Richmond Hill Food Bank for ensuring we help our community.  @RobsNoFrills. @RichmondHillFoodBank

The Oak Ridges Lions Club team members are grateful to have had the opportunity to present a donation to the Richmond Hill Food Bank on December 11, 2023 in the amount of $2000.00!  Just before the holidays, this donation was received with huge amounts of gratitude.  Our community and club are helping those in need make ends meet and have a much more joyous holiday season.

October 14th, 2023 - Food Drive

Oak Ridges Residents are Amazing! 

We are incredibly grateful to our amazing community for coming together and making our recent food drive a resounding success. Last week, you joined hands with us to make a meaningful impact on those in need. Your generous contributions of non-perishable items and financial support were the driving force behind this initiative's success. Thanks to your selflessness and compassion, we were able to collect an 1475 lbs of food items and $415.00 in financial donations that will provide nourishment and relief to those less fortunate. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your dedication to making our community a better place. Thank you for being the heart and soul of our community.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to our local Councillor, Carol Davidson, our MPP Michael Parsa, and our MP Leah Taylor-Roy, KIND, Richmond Hill Hall Charities Association, and Rob Klement of Rob's No Frills for their invaluable contributions to our food drive. Their commitment to our community and their willingness to lend a helping hand serve as an inspiring example for us all. It is heartwarming to see our public representatives and partners actively involved in making a positive difference in the lives of our neighbours. We thank them for their dedication and for setting a shining example of community engagement and cooperation. Together, we are making our community stronger and more compassionate.

Thank you to each and everyone one of you who came, shopped, smiled and improved the lives of others.   

We continue to be blown away by the generosity of the Oak Ridges Community!  Our fall Food Drive was a wonderfully successful event, despite some horrible weather that day! 

We are so very grateful to those of you that generously supported the Richmond Hill Food Bank at Rob’s No Frills. 

Over 1100 lbs of food and $100.00 raised to help local families in need! 

We are also so very grateful to Rob and his team, (who also donated 2 carts of frozen turkeys!), the volunteers and most importantly, the residents who made this such a great success on such a cold and rainy day!  Thank you!:)

Club members, resident volunteers, local dignitaries, another host store and lots of amazing residents were able to pull together to help fight hunger again this fall!.  In spite of the rather "miserable" weather, over 2100 lbs of food and financial donations of $160.00 were raised to help Richmond Hill Food Bank serve our growing and needy community residents.

The Oak Ridges Lions would like to thank the incredibly generous residents of our community for the overwhelming success of monetary and food donations which we received on behalf of the Richmond Hill Food Bank! 

Amazing weather the weekend of October 17-18, 2020 provided a welcome opportunity to be out of doors, socially distancing, and still coming together to support those in need in our community.  We were thrilled to meet so many incredible members of our community who were so quick to assist the Food Bank.  We are honoured to let you know, that with your generous donations, we were able to deliver over 1600 pounds of food and a donation of $575.00!  

We are so proud and grateful to be a part of such a caring community.  Thank you so very much!
