IMPORTANT QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
How are our 2022-23 Membership Dues distributed? This is a good question and the answer is as follows: From the $91.00 we collect from our members, the Lions Club International claims $43.00, the Multiple District 36 receives $23, and District 36-O receives $4 which then leaves $21.00 for our club's expenses. For Family Membership---the primary member pays $91.00 for regular dues and the family member pays $21.50 less.
Can I deduct my dues on my tax returns? Our club is a category 501-c-(4) which does not allow you to deduct dues or donations given to the Lake Oswego Lions Club. However, we do have a 501-c-(3) not-for-profit sister organization, called the Lake Oswego Lions Club Charities, Inc. Be advised that you need to check with your tax preparer to make determinations as to what may be deducted.
