In early March, you will see Harvard Lions around town holding their `Citrus Fruit Sale’ featuring sweet Valencia oranges (perfect for delicious vitamin C juice or sliced healthy snacks) and Royal Ruby Red grapefruit (with a flavor reminiscent of refreshing red grapes and sweet nectarines). The fruit is shipped direct from Florida and picked just a few days before delivery to Harvard. Once here it is maintained at Carlson’s Orchard refrigerated lockers so that it remains fresh.

Both products are available in 20 lb boxes for $28 , and a mixed 20 lb box is $30. The fruit is sold on a cash and carry basis. Selling stations are set up both at the Transfer Station and Harvard Town Center.

To order and pay online, enter your address, and we will deliver (in Harvard and adjacent towns only) on Saturday March 9th. Need not be home for delivery. $1 per box credit card charge, free delivery. If you are outside of Harvard, consider donating a box to Loaves and Fishes food pantry. If you purchase here, we will deliver the box on your behalf.

As with all Harvard Lion fund raising events, 100% of the proceeds are used to benefit the many charities and community programs we support.

If you need additional information or if you will be out of town during this period and want to order your fruit ahead of time, please email Ed Gordon at or Gary Sawyer at
