The Grand Island Lions award a total of $4000 in scholarships annually to graduating Grand Island students who exemplify exceptional service, character, and dedication.

The primary criteria for the service scholarship include a strong record of community service and volunteer involvement. Additional considerations include academic excellence, participation in school activities, and formal written recommendations.

Recipients are selected based on several standards, including outstanding character, a positive attitude towards school in life, and a demonstrated commitment to high effort and achievement. In some cases, scholarship winners may also have overcome difficult or challenging personal circumstances.

These scholarships reflect the Grand Island Lions' ongoing commitment to recognizing young people who make a meaningful impact on their community while striving for personal and academic success.
