WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

The Wilmington Lions Club Golf Classic is the major fund-raiser for The Wilmington Lions Club.  One hundred percent of the profits from our fund-raisers are used to support the needy (primarily blind or visually impaired persons) in our community.  The money that was raised last year was used as follows:

Paid for eye exams and glasses for needy individuals

Donated to Boys and Girls Homes, Inc., at Lake Waccamaw

Purchased and delivered gift cards for  food  for visually

 impaired people in our community

Made donations to the N. C. Lions Inc. which uses this money for

Aid to visually impaired, White Canes, Vision Van expenses, Organ and

Procurement costs,   Deaf and blind Retreat, and much more, Donated funds to help support

Camp Dogwood, a summer camp especially for blind and visually impaired persons

Paid expenses for visually impaired persons to attend Camp Dogwood for a week during the summer

Several other minor expenditures to help indigent people in our community

And much more!

Lions are people who have decided to give something back to their communities, who are dedicated to finding people in need, and who meet those needs in an efficient but caring way.

Lions are men and women who believe that by working with other dedicated Lions, they will accomplish far more for their communities than would be possible alone.

Lions are people who cherish the friendship and fellowship of their own Club, but who also feel a close kinship with more than 1.5 million fellow Lions in more than 160 countries and areas throughout the world.

Lions are dedicated to maintaining the highest ethical and moral standards in their Club and in their personal lives.
