WHO ARE THE TEHACHAPI LIONS?

The Lions Motto "We Serve" is the focus of our club and Lions Clubs International (LCI).  The original club was the Monolith-Tehachapi Lions Club and it was formed in 1950.  The majority of the members worked either at the Monolith Cement Company or they worked at the women's prison in Cummings Valley.  The Indian Wells Lion Club (now the Ridgecrest Lions Club) was the club's sponsor.  The community of Monolith ceased to exist in the late sixties so in 1973-74 the club changed their name to the Tehachapi Lions Club.  Our present members are a cross section of the community including active and retired CPA's, teachers, small business owners, realtors, elected officials, government workers, etc.  What we have in common is a desire to serve our community through various service projects and charitable donations and the camaraderie that goes with it.  We believe that our community is what we make it.  We help where help is needed.  In short, WE SERVE!
