TO DO ALL OF THIS WE RAISE MONEY BY
Selling chicken corn soup and ham sandwiches. Soup and ham sandwich sale will be held at the West Pennsboro Fire Hall in October 2025.
Selling ham and cheese or turkey and cheese sandwiches in February 2026.
Selling hanging baskets of flowers for Mother's Day in May 2026.
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HELPED THIS YEAR BY PUTTING INTO ACTION THE LIONS MOTTO: WE SERVE!
EASTER EGG HUNT
The Plainfield Lions Club will again sponsor the annual Easter egg hunt at West Pennsboro Park for the children in the community on Saturday, March 28, 2026, (Rain/snow date is April 4, 2026) starting at 11:00 am. The Plainfield Lions Club has been the sponsor of the community's Easter Egg hunt for over 30 years.
CHICKEN CORN SOUP
Every year the Plainfield Lions Club sells our delicious chicken corn soup. In past years we would make the soup in huge black kettles. Unfortunately, in the past couple of years we have had problems, first with the condition of the corn that was grown and then the COVID pandemic. We now purchase the soup from the Country Butcher Shop and sell it in that manner. Look for our soup sale on October 23 - 25, 2025 at the West Pennsboro Fire Company.
WESTERN CUMBERLAND COUNTY (WCC) LION PROJECTS
The Plainfield Lions Club are part of the Western Cumberland County (WCC) Lions that work on large-scale projects in the Carlisle area. Plainfield Lions supplied the leadership of Peck and Jill Freeland, who have graciously opened their home for fund raising meetings during the past year. Plans include a golf tournament at Eagles Crossing in June 2026 and a bake sale at the Country Butcher Shop in Plainfield on Labor Day weekend in 2026.
Contact Lion Acting Secretary Charlie Holtry for information or to place an order for any of these fund raising efforts.
