Key Projects
North Pole Winterfest Fireworks
The North Pole Lions Club, in conjunction with the North Pole Chambers Winterfest Bazaar, light up the sky with a dazzling display of fireworks for the City of North Pole. The Fireworks are launched off in the back of the Safeway parking lot by the carwash. The North Pole Lions organize the fire works with the entities of the city, and coordinate the shipping of the fireworks to North Pole. On the day of the Fireworks, the first or second Saturday of December, the North Pole Lions take center stage, orchestrating a symphony of light and sound that pants the canvas of the Artic night sky. From brilliant bursts of color to intricate patterns that dance across the sky, each explosion is a testament to the skill and dedicate of these tireless volunteers.
Santa's Letters
In the heart of North Pole, where the spirit of the holiday season shines brightest, the North Pole Lions have taken on a special role as Santa's trusted helpers for the beloved Letters to Santa program. This heartwarming initiative brings joy to children and adults alike all around the world, allowing them to connect with Santa Claus and receive a magical response straight from the jolly man himself, with a little help from his "elves" at the North Pole Lions.
North Pole 4th of July Parade
Every year, the North Pole Chamber puts on a spectacular 4th of July parade—and this year was one for the books! The North Pole Lions Club made a triumphant return, proudly parading their colors of blue and gold, along with a patriotic splash of red, white, and blue!
Their float was a true showstopper, decked out with a massive American flag and their iconic blow-up lion mascot that added a playful touch to the celebration. The crowd roared with excitement, and the Lions roared back—bringing home the coveted “Most Creative” Float Award! 🏆
The big question now: What will the Lions come up with next year? Stay tuned... Is this something that you might want to get involved with? 🦁🎉
Texas Holdem with the Mason's
There’s nothing quite like the friendly rivalry between the North Pole Lions and the North Pole Masons—especially when it comes to their high-stakes Texas Hold’em nights! At least twice a year, the two clubs go head-to-head, bringing their poker faces (and a lot of laughs) to the ABLERC building for a night of fun, food, and prizes.
The evening kicks off with a light supper to fuel the competition, and door prizes keep the excitement going all night long. But the real thrill? The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners walk away with awesome prizes—and the 1st place winner’s club earns the ultimate bragging rights by having their name etched on the plaque of poker glory!
Who will claim the next victory and the title? Only time—and the perfect hand—will tell! ♠️♦️

District 49B Meetings/District 49 Conventions
The North Pole Lions never miss a chance to grow, connect, and represent! Throughout the year, our club takes part in District 49B Lions Cabinet meetings (held four times annually) and the grand Multiple District 49 Convention, happening once a year.
Mark your calendars, because the 2025 MD 49 Convention is coming to Fairbanks from April 9-12! This exciting event brings together Lions from all across Alaska and parts of Canada. It’s the perfect place to swap ideas, learn about other clubs' amazing projects, and discover ways we can make an even greater impact together.
With training sessions, inspiring guest speakers, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow Lions, these gatherings help us grow stronger as a club—and have some fun along the way. 🐾

Voting takes place on the Chamber’s website, with the winners announced at the December luncheon. Can we top last year’s display? What new magic will we bring to the competition? One thing’s for sure: We’re in it to win it—and spread holiday joy along the way! 🎅
Keep an eye out for our lights… You won’t want to miss this year’s display!
