Here is a small sampling of what our club does in and for our community and world.
We Support or sponsor:
- A Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop
- The community Easter Egg hunt.
- Area 4-H Clubs.
- CARE International, working to curb child abuses in El Salvador.
- The Lions Club International Foundation, the grant-making arm of Lions Clubs International.
- The Moses Lake Youth Partnership Task Force.
- The Moses Lake High School Senior Frolic.
- The Moses Lake Food Bank.
- Habitat for Humanity.
- Construction and expansion of the General Doolittle Fun Park in Moses Lake
- Construction of the Forgotten Heroes Airman's Memorial
- Moses Lake Medical Team missions to Nigeria
Our club:
- Collects eyeglasses and hearing aids for the Northwest Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center.
- Arranges for eye examinations and glasses for members of the community who can otherwise not afford this service.
- Sponsors attendees at a camp for young people with diabetes.
- Helps obtain hearing aids for those who can not afford them.
- Purchased an Opti-Lec Reader for use by the visually impaired for the Moses Lake Library.
- Arranges for visits from the Lions Health Screening Unit, a mobile unit that performs free vision, diabetes and other checks for students and members of the community.
- Participates the American Cancer Society Relay for Life walk.
- Replaced the ceiling tiles at the Moses Lake Senior Center.
- Established an eyeglass recycling transportation hub. Used eyeglasses donated to our and other area Lions Clubs are checked, sorted and delivered to the Northwest Lions Recycling Center
- Built wheelchair ramps for members of the community.
