Get Off Your Can Run Fundraiser
Lake Sumter Lions Club hosted a virtual 5K run/walk/swim and 10K bike race. We wanted folks to be safe during this pandemic time. So instead of a group 5K race fundraiser, we asked participants to run, walk, swim and/or bicycle individually, on their own schedule.

A presentation ceremony was held recently outside at Laurel Manor Rec Center picnic area. Club "Get Off your Can" Chairwoman Jaci (below) presented the medallions and certificates to participants and sponsors.

Lions ReSell-It Day
Next ReSell-It: March 13, 2021
Lake Sumter Lions held their fifth annual Re-Sell It Day on Saturday, March 7 at the Lake Miona Rec Center. Buyers had a variety of pre-owned items from which to choose from: jewelry, books, DVDs, crafts, linens, garden tools, collectibles, and readers eyeglasses.
A very profitable day and a great day of teamwork.
Lions Chinese Auction
Feb 8. 2020
2021 Auction is Postponed. New Date TBD.
Thanks goes to Lions Doris, John, and Bunny and their committee for an extremely successful (and fun!) fundraiser. We had a great crowd of over 200 people who attended our 5th Chinese Auction at the Eisenhower Rec Center. Attendees bought raffle tickets for over 60 gift baskets ranging in value from $50 to over $100, as well as tickets for 50/50 drawings. Lions also served a meal of grilled hamburgers, chips, cookies and soda.
Lions Pancake Breakfast @ Applebee's
Lake Sumter Lions held their first Lions Pancake Breakfast and it was a success. Sponsored by the TB Financial Group, the pancake breakfast was held at Applebees in The Villages. Thanks go to Lion John (aka Walter) who organized and led this very successful new fundraiser.

2019-2020 White Cane Days
Lake Sumter Lions feel fortunate to live in a community that is so generous to the Lions. The Club conducts White Cane Days two times a year at Wal-Mart and four Publix grocery stores located in/around The Villages. Members collect $$ from the public, most of who know about the good works of Lions. Lions are assisted by dog handlers for Southeastern Guide Dog (SEGD) with their Puppies-in-Training.
All monies collected go to the Club's sight and diabetes testing programs, to include the Southeastern Guide Dogs organization. Thanks goes to Chairman Lion Bob who organizes these fundraisers.
With Fall 2019 White Cane Days, Lions were assisted by our SEGD puppy "Keller" which the Lake Sumter Lions sponsored. With the Spring 2020 White Cane Days, Lions were again assisted by SEGD puppies-in-training.
Thanks for your support.
