New member swear in 10 2 2019

Lions share a core belief – to serve their community. Founded in 1917 as a international non political non religous community service organization. We have more than 1.7 million members in 46,000 local clubs in 190 countries.

We are always looking for new members  - please contact John at  johnulrich@cox.net to be our guest at our next meeting.

At the request of Helen Keller we took up the challenge of fighting blindness in 1925. We also volunteer for many other service projects – feeding the hungry and aiding the less fortunate, seniors and the disabled.

Lions work toward providing vision for all by collecting and recycling used eyeglasses, conducting local vision screenings, equipping hospitals and clinics, distributing medicine and raising awareness of eye disease,   Through our international Sightfirst program we work overseas to prevent blindness.

We support local children and schools through scholarships, recreation and mentoring. Internationally we sponsor the Peace Poster Contest, Youth Camps and Exchange and Lions Quest. Our Leo Program provides the youth of the world with an opportunity for personal development through volunteering. There are approximately 144,000 Leos and 5,700 Leo clubs in more than 140 countries worldwide.

The Lions Clubs International Foundation supports humanitarian projects around the world. It has awarded more than US$700 million in grants since 1968

Lions help during disasters. The Lions Foundation and local Lions chapters  help communities following natural disasters by providing for immediate needs such as food, water, clothing and medical supplies.
