Meetings

THE LIONS FAIR IS BACK ON FRIDAY 3RD JUNE TO CELEBRATE THE QUEENS PLATINUM JUBILEE - SAVE THE DATE AND COME ALONG TO A GREAT KNUTSFORD COMMUNITY DAY OUT.

SENIOR CITIZENS VARIETY SHOW

This well loved Lions event will now be held on Saturday 28th May at Knutsford Methodist Church - PLEASE SEE CALENDAR PAGE FOR DETAILS

TV COMEDY NIGHT AT THE 'WELCOME'

We recently held a 'Classic TV Comedy Night' at the Welcome Community centre in Knutsford. Excerts from The Two Ronnies, Fawlty Towers and Monty Python kept people chuckling...home cooked lasagne and lemon/lime sponge and custard hit the spot, and donations to the Welcome and Longridge Community Garden project finished a great social evening.

'UNE' CHARITY CONCERT

A great concert by  'UNE' aka Mark Radcliffe and Paul Langley was a sell out sucess at St Johns Parish Church Knutsford on March 4th. Money was raised for the Christie and local children's chatrities 'Passion for Learning and Cheshire Young Carers'

A BIG 'THANK YOU'!

WE'D LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE WHO SO KINDLY DONATED TO THIS YEAR'S CHRISTMAS ENVELOPE/STREET COLLECTION AND TO THE WENCESLAS (FUEL POVERTY & HARDSHIP) APPEAL. WE ARE GRATEFUL THAT  WE WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE A SMALL DIFFERENCE TO PEOPLE'S LIVES IN CONTINUED DIFFICULT TIMES

CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH FOR THOSE ON THEIR OWN

This annual event again had to be changed to a 'home delivered' lunch. Over 40 lonely people had a full 3 course turkey lunch and Christmas 'goody bag' brought to their home by volunteers who gave up their time on Christmas Day. We were delighted that Town Mayor Stewart Gardiner and consort Simon were able to visit and thank people for their contribution. We are also thankful to the Holly Tree Farm, little Waitrose, the Co-op, Bexton Cheese and others who kindly donated food for the event.

"Knutsford & District Lions Club" Charitable Trust has been Registered Charity No. 508499 for many years, but we have recently set up a separate Charitable Incorporated Organisation:-  "Knutsford & District Lions Club (CIO)" - Registered Charity No. 1198210

Our finances will progressively be transferred to this new charitable status, and eventually our Charity 508499 will be closed down.  The activities of the Club will continue as before and will not be affected by this change.
