The Coppell Lions Club engages in many service activities benefiting our community and beyond. Here are some of our projects.

Vision

Coppell Lions offer free vision screenings for children to identify those who should go for a full eye exam in locations like the Cozby Library. We also partner with Optometrists to provide free full eye exams for children and collect used eye glasses in special Lions boxes around town for reuse.

Build a Bed

In partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, the Coppell Lions participate in two annual Build a Bed events. During the most recent event, volunteers built 75 bunk bed sets which are provided along with matresses, sheets and pillows to both children in DFW who don't have a bed to sleep in and the free Coppell Lions summer camp in the Hill Country for children with physical or mental challenges.

In addition to volunteering our labor, the Coppell Lions Club has donated $49,000 over the last three years to help fund Build a Bed making us the largest single contributor to this district-wide project.

Toy and Food Drive

Every December Coppell Lions and Leos pick up toy and food donations collected at CISD schools across the district, sort them and donate them to needy families to brighten their holiday season.

College Scholarships

Each year, Coppell Lions provide a $2,000 per year college scholarship to a service minded Coppell High School student worth up to $8,000 over four years.

Trash Pick Up

To help keep our community beautiful and our waterways healthy, Coppell Lions collect trash in our town on the first Saturday of every month.

Fundraisers

The Coppell Lions Club holds two annual fundraisers to help fund our service projects as well as larger Lions International efforts. The first is our Pancake Breakfast typically held in February and the second is our Wine Tasting Event held in October.

Having Fun!

While our mission as Lions is community service, we have lots of fun as well participating in town parades, having weekly happy hours and enjoying our annual club picnic and our annual holiday party.
