Lions Clubs International Project – WICTU - Winter Is Coming To Ukraine, part 3

WELCOME ABOARD FOR THE 3RD YEAR!

After two very successful years of Winter Is Coming To Ukraine (WICTU) projects, we are back in business again! Altogether over 2.7 million Euros have been raised for generators and wood burning stoves in the previous two years.

In November 2024, Prime minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal urged all citizens to seek alternative sources of power and heat as their local infrastructure had been destroyed in many areas. Ukraine has now a desperate need for these Lions Stoves to support families all-around the country. Therefore, in this 3rd year of WICTU, we continue to provide stoves. During the spring and summer there has been development and testing for burning pellets, coal, briquettes etc. for improved heating within the same stove model.

Now we need to join our forces once again to build and deliver Lions Stoves to the families in Ukraine together with LCIF!

Our Lions Stove meets all needed requirements, as it is

• high-quality and effective,
• made of steel, perfect for heat radiation
• can burn wood, pellets, briquettes, and coal,
• has a big surface to cook food,
• has ash box to collect ashes and to control the draft,
• instruction manual included, both in English & Ukrainian.
• Cost of one stove is AUD $250

At the February management meeting, the Lions Club of Branxton decided to donate money to this cause to purchase stoves for Ukraine
