Lions Awareness Day and Clean Up Australia Day

On 2nd March, a mighty team of Clean Up operatives from the Lions Club of Branxton did a major Clean Up of the town centre of Branxton ably led by Lion Wendy Lawson. The Clean Up team collected a number of bags of rubbish deposited on the roadside, much of it from ‘fast-food’ outlets around the town. Wendy said: ‘We are working hard to clean up the town and thank the North Rothbury Tidy Towns organization and the Branxton Girl Guides for their assistance in this annual task.’

Message from Pip Kiernan, Clean Up Chair and Jenny Geddes, Clean Up CEO:

Clean Up community, you are amazing! What a truly awesome BIG week of action, culminating with Clean Up Australia Day today and our 35th anniversary! We have had thousands of Clean Up events happen right across the country, from up North in the Tiwi Islands in Northern Territory to right down South in Abels Bay in Tasmania! Over 800,000 passionate Clean Up legends from all walks of life, pulled on their gloves and did their bit to make our environment a cleaner and better place! Together we have made a real difference! We're blown away by all your Clean Up efforts and once you've had a well-earned rest, we are looking forward to another year of practical action and helping to improve and conserve our environment, eliminate litter and end waste.’

Clean Up Thanks
