The benefits of becoming a Waiuku Lions club member
You will become part of the world’s largest community service organization.
You’ll join a local group of service-minded men and women who volunteer to support your community.
You’ll also become a member of Lions Clubs International, the opportunity to become a leader in your local community, and you will get to know the people of your community through being respected and trusted.
Lions are not an “All work and no play” organization, they are also a social group with activities to that are fun and enjoyable.
Your Commitment • Lions recognise that your first commitment is to your family, and occupation and if you have available time we ask you to consider how you can assist your Lions Club.
Membership categories
For prospective active members and also prospective members who may not be able to meet the obligations of an active membership. Lions Clubs offer several membership categories to fit your needs.
Active Member
Active membership is the “typical” category of Lions membership. Active members receive all benefits and endeavour to meet all requirements of Lions membership.
Affiliate Member
An affiliate member is someone who is not able to participate as an active member of the club but desires to support the club and it’s community service initiatives and not be involved in administration.
Family Member
The Family Membership Program provides families with the opportunity to receive a special dues discount when they join the same Lions club together. The first family member (head of household) pays full dues and up to four additional family members pay only half the dues.
Friends of Lions
- Persons interested in being a Friend of Waiuku Lions must be nominated by a Waiuku Lions Club Member. The Waiuku Lions Club votes to accept the nomination.
- Interested persons must have an interest in the Waiuku Lions Club. Either by providing a service to or for the Waiuku Lions Club. Friends of Waiuku Lions may assist in project and activities.
- Friends of Waiuku Lions pay no subscriptions. Have no voting rights. They may have speaking rights by a Waiuku Lions Club motion and vote.
Friends of Waiuku Lions can attend Social and Dinner nights (normal costs apply) as a visitor. The Waiuku Lions Club retains a door register. Friends of Waiuku Lions will need to wear a name tag, and must sign in when any alcohol is served. #Waiukulions
