Lions Message in a Bottle (MIAB) is a simple idea, open to all, that encourages people to keep their personal and medical details in a common place (the fridge) where the emergency services will know where to look should you have an accident or sudden illness at home. Part of a nationwide scheme it saves vital time in identifying you, your next of kin and any medical or allergy information.
Towcester Lions distributed these potentially life saving bottles through medical centres, libraries, chemists and organisations such as Help the Aged, Northamptonshire Association for the Blind and Diabetes UK.
The kits are absolutely free with all the costs being met by the Lions. and will be continued by other Lions's clubs

Sight & Hearing have long been Lions projects both nationally and around the world. We collect unwanted spectacles and hearing aids from Medical Centres and send them to a central location where they are cleaned, graded and forwarded to the third World. Look out for a Lions Club Spectacle and Hearing aid collection point ( this one is in Greens Norton Medical Centre) and if you have any unwanted glasses or hearing aids you could help transform the life of someone by donating them to Lions.
This service will continue being run by other Lion's clubs..
