TOWCESTER & DISTRICT LIONS CLUB which was part of  Lions Clubs International since the club was founded in 1974, has now closed. It served the community of Towcester and South Northamptonshire for over 50 years providing support and help to the community and to those in need.

Please view the closure notice in the News Section

Lions Clubs International was founded in 1917 and now there are over 45,000 clubs in 205 countries worldwide made up of men and women who wish to use a little of their spare time to provide comfort and assistance to people less fortunate than themselves. To find out more about Lions Clubs International, please click on the link to the right.

Follow the links on the left to find out more about who we were and what we did. Here are a few highlights.

Towcester Farmers Market. Towcester Lions managed the monthly Farmer's Market which provides income for local good causes. From December 2024 it is being run by Towcester Rotary Club.

Towcester Midsummer Music Festival. Towcester Lions were part of the team which staged the annual Midsummer Music Festival.  The Festival will continue with others.

Message In a Bottle. Towcester Lions actively supported this potentially life saving scheme and has distributed over 6000 bottles to disabled and elderly people in South Northamptonshire.

Lions Sight and Hearing Programmes.  We have collected and sent thousands of unwanted spectacles and hearing aids to those who can benefit from them in developing countries.

Being a Lion is not all community service and fundraising. Towcester Lions had a very active social programme and every month it arranged a social evening with partners and friends.

The members all agreed that the need for "Fellowship and Fun" should be part of the reason for becoming a Lion.
