 Service Activitiesm 2025-2026:

1.DIABETES:

A. Every Saturday Walk at Forest Park Community center. Indoor track in winter and an outdoor field track in summer.

b. November 14th: World Diabetes Day In collaboration with Diabetes Canada we hold a 5K Walk  (Lace up to end Diabetes]

c Annual Diabetes Awareness booth  at Canadian National Exhibition :( August 25-September1).

(Lion Michael Sarin).

d. Diabetes Kidney Dialysis Camp in Dorset: 400 People receive Dialysis every year,

 Lion President Naresh Doshi: Board member: Camp Dorset.

e. Lion Hiten Makim: Treasurer, Camp Dorset

2.VISION

a. Recycle for Sight Glasses Collection which has expanded to collect Hearing aids as well. Past 6 months Club donated 700 pairs of glasses for third world countries and 5 hearing aids

b.  Quarterly Blind Bingo for 30 visually challenged folks as their Rehab with FUN.

c. Branch Club Eye RIDE fundraiser 2025: 40 Tandem bike Riders participating in raising $100K.

3.HUNGER

a. Participation and Fundraising Annual Yonge Street Mission Walk and Coldest Night of Year Walk (February Events).

b. Annual Toronto Star Fund delivering presents to 50,000hildren of financially deprived families. (November -December) in association with other service Clubs.

c. Blue Jays   Giveaways to raise funds for Foodbank. (Annual $40K) A joint project with Toronto  Weston Lions Club.(Lion Chris Ellam 647-985-3743).

4.ENVIRONMENT

a. Annual Downsview Park:   Tree planting project. (September – October): Lion Abdullah Gamandie.

b. First Nations residents from Northern Ontario and Manitoba: Victims of fires who had to be evacuated and housed in Toronto Hotels.

They left their home with nothing to carry with them. District Clubs rose to the opportunity to help them to procure clothes, arranging schooling for kids and programs  for seniors.

5.Childhood Cancer

Childhood Cancer ( a District Project): receiving  LCIF Grant $60,000, for Rainbow Lake Camp for Children with Cancer.

Our Club’s donation $ 500 for the Project

6.MENTAL HEALTH

A. Mental Health Awareness Week: October4-11)

Screening of Addiction and Schizophrenia films: in collaboration with MEHAR. [Mental and Emotional Health Awareness Renaissance]. (Lion Bishnu Aryal).

b. Strengthening Families Together:  Institute for Advancements in Mental Health ongoing   monthly sessions for families of persons living with severe psychiatric disorders.

7.Fundraising Walks for Hospitals: [North York General and University Health Network]. Lion Ross Durant.

8.Other Humanitarian Services

a. 2025 Disaster relief in Philippines and Jamaica. (support by donation $500).

b. Dementia support for community members (Lion Marilyn Sarin).

c. Able Sail Toronto to serve needs of disabled sailors. (President Abel Sail. Lion Eleanor Baker( 647-701-3855).

9.Individual volunteerism:

a. Churches on the Hill Food Bank: Timothy Eaton Memorial Church: Lion Carlyn Williams (416-505-5649)

b. Ultrasound teaching in Malawi, Ethiopia Project:  Lion Carolyn Maloney (416-605-9281).
