 Annual Golf Tournament 

Date for 2021 to be announced.    

25 teams of golfers enjoy a round of golf, steak dinner and prizes at our Annual Golf Tournament at the beautiful Briarfox course in Marysville.. The Club has a silent auction at the tournament with prizes donated by local businesses. Funds raised at the tournament go to support the Club projects in the community. To date the Club has donated over $60,000 from funds raised at this fun event!.

Canada Day

July 1, 2021.  

Canada Day 2021 will be celebrated as a "Drive Through" event.  The Tamworth & District Lions Club, in conjunction with the Tamworth Skate Park Committee will be hosting a "Drive Through BBQ" from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on July 1st at the Tamworth ball park parking lot.  Everyone is asked to enter the lot from Bridge Street West and REMAIN IN YOUR VEHICLE THROUGHOUT THE DRIVE THROUGH.  Please ensure you decorate yourself, your vehicle, your spouse, children, pets, etc.  Let's show our Canadian spirit.  See poster for full details.

 11th Annual Kids Fishing Derby

Postponed for 2021

The Annual Kids Fishing Day is held the Saturday after Canada Day. Children aged 0 – 12 are invited to participate in this fun filled morning at The Lions Beaver Lake Park. At registration each child that participates will receive on a “boddle bag” and worms. The Lions Club serves up a BBQ lunch that everyone (parents included) will enjoy. Although the bbq is free of charge, donations are accepted. There is a draw for prizes at the end of the morning, and all children who register receive a prize. The Club receives donations of prizes and money for this event from various local sponsors.                                       Lions Fish Fry & Corn Roast 

Date for 2021 to be announced 

 

Over 400 people attend this annual event, which is held on the third Sunday in August. In the 30 year history, the Lions Club has raised over $80,000 at this event and returned 100% back to support programs in our community. The event offers crispy, lightly battered fish, corn on the cob, garden fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, potato salad, and a dinner role. Coffee, tea and cold beverages are available. There is a huge dance floor to enjoy the live country music.

Christmas Food Hampers

The Tamworth & District Lions Club distributes approximately 25 food hampers every Christmas to residents of Stone Mills Township.  Families are provided boxes of food, including fresh produce, bread, eggs, a turkey or ham, and gifts for children 12 and under.  Schools and business in the area collect donations of food which are distributed days before Christmas.   For information on, or to donate to our Food Hamper program, please conact Helen Thompson: 613-770-1172
