St. Joseph Dollars for Scholars

Dollars for Scholars offers scholarships for local students. 

• St. Joseph Lions members Stephanie Hazen and son Jon Hazen were featured in a recent St. Joseph Newsleader article highlighting their involvement in the Dollars for Scholars program founded in 1996 by Stephanie's late husband, Michael Hazen.

• The St. Joseph Area Dollars for Scholars recently awarded fifteen $1,000 scholarships to area students from Apollo, St. John's Prep, Cathedral, and Rocori as well as non-traditional students pursuing higher education. The certificates were either given out in person by a board member or mailed to recipients. Checks will be sent in the name of the college and student by the middle of August. In September fundraising efforts for 2026 scholarships will begin. Donations are always gratefully accepted to benefit our local students.
