Ham and Eggs Breakfast Fundraiser
Sunday, November 24th. 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

This Sunday! We haven't had a Ham & Eggs Breakfast fundraiser in a while, so we decided to bring it back. This will be our fall fundraiser instead of the pork chop sandwich event. Tickets will be $10 per person, and you can buy them from any of our Club members or online at our Square store at sfvlions.square.site. Children under 5 are free.

And, just in time for Thanksgiving, we are also bringing back our "Wheel of Meat" raffle. We will have ten frozen turkeys and ten hams to raffle off that day for $2 a chance. Additionally, we will be raffling off a Toshiba 55" C350 Series 4K UHD Smart Fire TV at $5 a ticket, and if you bring any non-perishable food item for the Club's food pantry you will receive an entry into the door prize raffle.

November is diabetes awareness month, and we will also have volunteers from the Chicago Healthcare Alliance Lions Club onsite during the Ham & Eggs Breakfast doing free blood glucose testing to check for possible diabetes.

Candy Cane Hunt and Christmas Party in the Park

Forest View Park District and Stickney-Forest View Lions Club invite you to join in our 3rd Annual Candy Cane Hunt and Christmas Party in the Park!

Stickney-Forest View Lions Food Pantry

If anyone has been looking for our Stickney-Forest View Lions Club Food Pantry, it is still located at the Forest View Village Hall. It has just been moved to the north end of the second floor. We invite the community to help keep this much needed resource stocked with non-perishable food items and hygiene products. If you should notice the pantry needs restocking, please email us at sfvlions@gmail.com. Thank you again to the Village of Forest View for hosting our pantry.

Lions of Illinois Foundation Candy Day 2024

Did you see our awesome Lions out collecting money during Lions of Illinois Foundation Candy Days on October 11th and 12th? They did a fantastic job and collected over $1,600 from the community. That money will go towards supporting multiple programs provided by the Lions of Illinois Foundation, including the Low Vision Program for Students, Adult Low Vision-Orientation & Mobility Training, Camp Lions Summer Camp for Youth and Adults, and the Mobile Hearing and Retinal Screening Unit. Great job, Lions! 🦁 😃

Trash and Litter Pick-Up Kits

One of the eight major causes Lions Club International supports is the Environment. Lions and Leos are working to protect the environment to create healthier communities and a more sustainable world. In support of this, our Club purchased some litter pick-up kits that would allow us to go out and pick up trash in parks, around schools, along forest paths, or wherever. We have six reaching tools for picking up trash and two large collection bags with shoulder straps. If you know of a location in our communities or nearby that you think could use a little volunteer TLC, let us know and we can put something together.

Our first Queen of Hearts drawing was on February 2, 2021. In all the drawings since then, we have only been playing at the Stage 1 prize level of our Queen of Hearts Raffle. Our pot has crossed $30,000, which kicks us up into the Stage 2 prize level. General ticket winners go from $50 to $100. Aces go from $100 to $250. Jokers go from $500 to $1,500 (and we start a new board). And the Queen of Hearts stays at half the pot. Our weekly drawing is held at 7:30p every Tuesday, at Lynn Catherine’s located at 6525 W. Pershing Rd., Stickney, IL. For detailed rules click here. You can purchase tickets at Lynn Catherine's, at one of these other locations, or at our online store.

At our November 19th drawing the winning ticket belonged to BBH Corp., who selected card #41 on the board, which was revealed to be the Five of Hearts.
The pot rolls over to next week and will start at $85,100.

If you are unable to take part in any of our current fundraising events, you are still able to make general donations through our Square store to support our causes. Programs like Camp Lions, Low Vision Clinics and Screenings, Chicago Lighthouse, Diabetes Awareness, and others are still in need of our support through donations. Locally, requests are coming in from local food pantries, assistance for eye testing, hearing testing, and other needs for our community residents. Please consider making an online donation using the link below. Thank you for your generosity.
