The next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 16 at 6pm at Messiah United Methodist Church, 30 South Penn Street. Parking and the entrance are in the rear of the building. The cost of the meal will be $15.00 per person. Reservations need to be made by responding to this email by April 13th. The menu will feature ham loaf, scalloped potatoes, green beans almondine and dessert. Please bring the exact cost of the meal in cash or a check made payable to - The Shippensburg Lions Club.

President’s message:

Hello Fellow Lions – Welcome to April. It does seem like Spring is finally here. Flowers are blooming, the birds are singing, and for me I’ve mowed my grass already.

Looking back at the month of March we had our normal club meeting with another good turnout on Thursday March 19th with Jersey Mike’s subs, a variety of chips, and a favorite of mine in a chocolate cake w/ peanut butter icing as our meal. We received an update from the Scouts as our entertainment that night and it’s always good to hear about what the future holds. The Scouts, our first Shippensburg Girl Eagle Scout, and the Scout leaders always impress in the things they are doing and the appreciation they have for the Lions Club supporting them.

The month of April brings our normal club meeting on Thursday April 16th where we will have Mercy House as our guests and program that evening. We’ll have dinner prepared by a member of the Messiah UM church followed by our normal program.

Saturday April 18th will be our Spring Adopt-A-Highway where we will meet at 9am at Goose Brothers to start the trash pickup.
