President’s message:

Hello Fellow Lions – it’s November so Thanksgiving here we come!!

Looking back at the month of October as a Club we are wrapping up running the Concession Stand at the High School Football games at Memorial Park for the year.  The weather for all the games this year was great meaning a great crowd resulting in a very good year for the concession stand.  Thank you everyone for all the support!!

On Thursday October 16th, we had our Club Meeting at the Messiah UM Church Fellowship Hall with the District Governor, 1st. Vice District Governor, and our Zone Chair in attendance.  At that meeting we honored the Student of the Months for September and October, inducted 1 new member, and listened to our District Governor give the club his presentation.

As we look forward to November the fall Adopt-A-Highway will be held on Saturday November 1st at 9am meeting at our normal place in the Goose Brothers Parking Lot.

We encourage all members to attend the Farm City Banquet on Monday November 24th serving as our November meeting.  The dinner will be turkey and trimmings at $22/person at the Shippensburg Emergency Services Building at 20 Walnut Bottom Road.  Part of the Job Exchange this year is Painterland Sisters Yogurt from Newville.  RSVP to Lion Galen by Nov 17th with your payment made out to him if you are issuing a check.  His address is 4 Travis Ave, Shippensburg.

Our December Christmas Dinner will be held at the home of Vice President Deb Luffy on Thursday December 18th.  More details to come on this in your December newsletter.

The Zone is still collecting hard glass cases and prescription pill bottles for anyone who has those to turn in.

Finally, we are looking to secure the Messiah UM Church Fellowship Hall for our 2026 meeting dates and will advise once we have that completely locked in.
