President’s message:
Hello Fellow Lions – Happy New Year 2026!! The new year gives us all a chance to reflect on 2025 but more importantly to look forward to 2026 and what it could bring in our personal and professional lives and as a Lions Club. I ask you to reflect and think about what we are doing well, improvement areas, and opportunities that we have as a club. Your thoughts can be shared with any of the Board Members or myself. It’s important as a club that we give these things some thoughts and it will be a topic we discuss early here in 2026 as a Lions Club Board.
Looking back at the month of December as a Club we had a wonderful Christmas Party at Deb Luffy’s home. There were about 25 in attendance where we had a delicious meal prepared by Ron and Deb followed by some Jeopardy and Bingo themed Christmas games.
As we look forward to 2026 our January club meeting will be held Thursday January 15th at the Messiah UM Church Fellowship Hall.
Some upcoming Lions Club events to get on your calendars would be as follows:
- January Club Meeting – Thursday January 15th, 2026
- Winterfest in Downtown Shippensburg – Saturday February 14th, 2026
- February Club Meeting – Thursday February 19th, 2026

Membership campaign: The first step to recruiting a new member is to ask someone you know to join us. They just might say yes.
Mount Holly Lions are collecting hard eyeglass cases: they fill them with medical supplies such as band aids, ointment, etc. to hand out at local events in their area. They put their club name and information on the outside of the case.
Good food and good fun at our holiday dinner at the Luffy’s.
