President’s message:
Hello Fellow Lions – October is here already and there’s the Shippensburg Halloween Parade and Trick or Treat to look forward to!!
September was another busy month for the Shippensburg Club. We had our Family Picnic at Memorial Park as our September Monthly Meeting. We had 24 in attendance, and everyone enjoyed a covered dish meal followed by several rounds of Gift Card Bingo. The football concession stand continues to do really well with some big crowds at the High School Football games. We are 4 Varsity Games down and 1 more to go.
As we look forward to our meeting on October 16th at Messiah United Methodist Church at 30 S Penn St. in Shippensburg in the Fellowship Hall. Please, park in the rear of the church. Pizza, chips, dessert, soda and water will all be provided by the Lions Club as for the meal that evening. We’ve decided that for our November meeting will be encouraging all Lions Club members to attend the Farm City Banquet on Monday November 24th with more information about this to follow. We are finalizing our December Christmas meeting and will provide more information about this as well. Finally, we have had to move our original date of Adopt – A – Highway to Saturday November 1st.
