There will be no regular meeting this month. We will be having a field trip to the Volvo Plant.

 On Thursday April 18 at 6pm we will meet at the Volvo Construction Equipment plant, 321 Volvo Way in Shippensburg. Lion Brian Beidel will conduct the 45–60-minute tour. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. There will NOT be a meal at this April meeting. Brian must provide a list of participants to his Human Resource Dept. Guests are welcome, but the name of the guest must be provided. RSVP must be provided to Lion Kathy Eddinger 717-729- 7426 or keddinger@embarqmail.com no later than Monday April 15.

President’s message:

1. We are still in the adjustment stage for our new meeting location at Reasner hall, but all seems to be going well.

2. The WCCLP (Western Cumberland County Lions Project) is providing each club with $1,000 to be donated to the Match Madness program. We have chosen to split the money five ways and include $200 to each entity which includes: Christ Among Neighbors (CAN), Civic Club (Community Nurse), Shippensburg Produce & Outreach (SPO), Shippensburg Community Resource Coalition ((SCRC) for Hounds Packs, and Cumberland Valley Rails to Trails. Each of these will be matched by the Partnership for Better Health.

3. The Board approved the creation of a new Assistant Treasurer position. This individual will be responsible for collecting dues and cash receipts and making deposits under the direction of the Treasurer.

4. The Board also approved the sponsoring of a hole at the WCCLP Golf Tournament in the

amount of $100.

5. Contact Lion Galen Burkholder to purchase tickets for the Beacon Lodge Duck Derby. The cost is $5.00 each.
