Partnership Project with Lions Club International Foundation and Water is Life Kenya
Lions Bringing Clean Water to Kenya through the Nooriro Community Borehole
Overview
Access to clean water is a cornerstone of sustainable development, and Lions Clubs around the world are stepping up to make a difference. The Pike Creek Green Hills Lions Club, in partnership with Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) and Water Is Life Kenya, proudly supported the Nooriro Community Borehole project. By fulfilling the Lions’ mission of serving humanity, we helped deliver clean and safe water to thousands in this rural Kenyan community.
The Lions’ Role in Clean Water Initiatives
Through LCIF’s grants, local Lions Clubs, and dedicated partnerships, the Nooriro Borehole Project is a testament to what Lions can achieve together:
- Infrastructure Creation: With Lions’ guidance, we collaborated to drill the borehole and install solar-powered pumps, ensuring sustainability.
- Improved Community Health: By reducing waterborne diseases, Lions have directly improved the quality of life for over 5,000 community members.
- Economic Empowerment: By securing access to water, women and children now spend less time fetching water and more time pursuing education and economic opportunities.
Why Clean Water is a Lions Priority
Clean water is vital for health, education, and community development. Lions recognize that water access is an essential component of fulfilling our motto, We Serve. By working through LCIF, Lions are able to create sustainable solutions like the Nooriro Borehole that have far-reaching, life-changing impacts.
