Vision Services

Lions Clubs were challenged by Helen Keller in 1925 to becone "Knights for the Blind". This has been a major purpose since that time.

The Painesville Lions Club works to help people living in the  area who need vision services when they can't afford them. We have been helping our neighbors in Painesville and nearby communities for the last 75+ years.

The larger part of our clients need eye exams and eyeglasses.

You can download an application and guidelines at lionseyeprogram.com  Click on the Applying for service page. Also on this page are answeres to frequently asked questions.

To apply for services, download and complete the application. Please read the guidelines. Send the application to the Painesville Lions Club, P.O. Box 633, Painesville, Ohio 44077. The application will be reviewed by the Lions Eye Program and you will be notified.  We do not pay for exams or glasses received elsewhere or obtained before approval.

Other Services

If there is a natural emergency in the Painesville area, our Lions Club may help people in crisis situations. Lions Clubs have been known to help neighbors around the world in tsunamis, hurricanes, floods, and other disasters. Lions Clubs members are members of the communities they live in, and on hand to help. Locally the Painesville Lions have supported the schools, participated in Painesville City clean up days, supported Camp Ho Mita Koda- a camp for diabetic children located in Newbury, supported the Central YMCA, Project Hope, the Salvation Army, Boy Scouts, and more.

Our global causes include diabetes, pediatric cancer, hunger, the environment, and vision. Worldwide, there are in excess of 1.4 million Lions providing help to those in need.
