Our Cub Program is for Kids aged 12 and Under
Cubs ages 12 and younger will work side-by-side with the Painesville Lions Club to know the joy of volunteering and develop a lifelong dedication to helping those in need.
Our Cub Program took off in May of 2023, and since that time we have done or planned many service and family fun events, including:
- Refreshing the look of 2 eyeglass donation bins (Mentor Lowes and Lake Erie College locations)
- Proposing, presentation planning, and presenting a Little Free Food Pantry idea to a committee at the Lake County YMCA Central Branch in Painesville. The food pantry is currently operational at 933 Mentor Ave, Painesville, OH 44077 and open to anyone in need of food or seasonal items. it is located outside the main entrance and is available 24/7. See the News 5 story here.
- Planned and arranged a bake sale to raise funds for our food pantry and also to help the homeless and hungry. A portion of the funds raised was donated to Little Annie's Hope Train to help this cause.
- Will help serve meals to the hungry at St. James Church Soup Kitchen in January 2024.
-
Proposed Tree Planting in Spring 2024, in planning stages alongside The Holden Arboretum and Painesville Parks and Rec Department.
-
Backpack collection drive for Painesville City Schools Family Resource Center in March 2024. 121 backpacks and several insulated lunchboxes were collected and donated to Maribel Young at the FRC in early April of 2024.
