The Olive Branch for Children Presentation

Fresh from an invitation from a British Lions Club to address the British House of Commons, Deborah McCraken-Nangereke took the opportunity to once again show her passion for the cause she embraced over two decades ago. Deborah explained how the way to interrupt and put an end to the “generational poverty cycle” is through education, health and the creation of better job opportunities to develop resources and increase individual financial capabilities.

Literacy is therefore of critical importance and as a short-term objective, the organization is targeting the expansion of their mobile library.

“The Olive Branch for Children” is a volunteer organization with no “management” fees and about 97% of funds donated are invested on the work at ground level.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt - April 8, 2023

The annual Easter Egg Hunt, co-sponsored by the three Lions Clubs in King Township, was a huge success again this year on the sunny Saturday morning before Easter. Well over one hundred kids enjoyed the challenge of finding the eggs spread over a large area of the Nobleton Lions Sports Park and then exchanging them for chocolate Easter Bunnies. Free hot chocolate and coffee were appreciated by all on this cool morning.

Pictured here are the start of the hunt after the whistle was blown, some children emptying their baskets of collected eggs, and the Lions and helpers who made it all happen.

Nobleton Lions and Volunteers clean up the Community Park - April 23, 2022

The Nobleton Lions Club thanks you for your participation in our recently-completed online auctions. Over $5000 was raised to support local and international needs.

The Nobleton Lions have had two major fund-raisers over the last several years. Our Annual cash-draw and our hugely popular golf tournament! Unfortunately we have been unable to have either event since early 2020. The online auctions allowed us to continue to contribute to all of the wonderful causes we support both in the town of Nobleton and indeed worldwide through Lions International.

Charter Member David Harper Honoured - 2020

It was about his coming out of the stands at a Leaf game in 1962, while still a Junior A goalie, to substitute, very ably, for the injured NY Ranger goalie Gump Worsley, The central characters in both memorable events are pictured above.
