Carer’s week Honeypot Children’s Charity challenge
Newport and Usk Vale Lions were challenged to raise the awareness of the Honeypot Children’s Charity with 100 people and to raise £100 for their funds. Raising awareness was done through social Media as well as face to face discussions. We managed to raise awareness with over 1500 people and organisations.
In addition, we organised a BEE Drive (Instead of drawing a Beetle) we changed it to a Bee, reflecting the link to the Honeypot Charity. So we designed our own instruction guide on how to draw a bee!
We further enhanced existing links by building our relationship with local cub groups who had been involved in our legacy project of wild flower seed distribution. Adults and children had great fun creating their Bees and we raised £100 for the Honeypot Charity to aid them in their work of providing holidays for young carers.
