Time is approaching for the Lions Club of Mobile Tunnel Vision 5K Run to be held on Satruday, May 4, 2019. The best part is the after party -  taco bar, beverages, awards presentation and music at Cafe Del Rio on the Causeway.

Listed below are the specifics of the event.


5K Run/walk will start at 8 AM.  


Run/walk will start at the intersection of Washington and Government Streets - in front of the Mobile Public Library.


Proceeds from the Tunnel Vision 5K will benefit the sight programs of the Lions Club of Mobile. Please visit to learn about their programs.


Point to point 5K course.  Participants will start at the Mobile Public Library on Government Street and finish at Cafe Del Rio on the Causeway. 


Participants are asked to park near the start of the 5K. Shuttle buses will be available to take participants from Cafe Del Rio to the start after the event.  Shuttles will start leaving Cafe Del Rio startting at 8:45 AM; last shuttle will leave Cafe Del Rio at 10:30 AM.

Entry Fees: 

Fees include race shirt, shuttle service, and entrance to post-race party.


Pre-register by mail (entries should be postmarked by April 27), walk-in at McCoy Outdoor, Run-N-Tri, or Fleet Feet in Mobile or Running Wild in Fairhope until noon on Thursday before race. or online until 4 AM Friday before race.  Early packet pick-up available on Friday from noon until 5:30 PM at the Port City Pacers office located at 358 Morgan Avenue.  Race day registration and packet pick-up in front of the Mobile Public Library from 6:15 - 7:30 AM.


Participants registered by April 27 will be guaranteed a tee shirt in the size requested.  After April 27, tee shirt sizes can not be guaranteed.


Top male and female Overall, Masters, Grandmasters, and Senior Grandmasters. Top three male and female in age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24. 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75+.

Post-Race Party:   

A taco bar, beverages, awards presentation and music at Cafe Del Rio on the Causeway.

     Welcome to the Lions Club of Mobile which was founded on October 9, 1922. We are the 2nd oldest Lions Club in Alabama and the oldest Lions Club along the Greater Gulf Coast. We are part of Lions Club International which is the largest service club organization in the world, founded by Melvin Jones almost 100 years ago.

     LIONS is an acronym which stands for LIBERTY, INTELLIGENCE, OUR NATION’S SAFETY, and our Motto is “We Serve.” We support many worthwhile projects, with a key emphasis on sight preservation and eye research and providing sight and support for the blind.
