The Manassas Host Lions Club was chartered on June 18, 1947.  We meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month (excluding one meeting in both July, August, November & December) when we only meet on the second Wednesday at the City Tavern in Manassas, Virginia.

Member Obligations

•    Pay quarterly dues of $40. They cover international and state dues, a subscription to the Lions magazine.  Meals are paid by each member at the restaurant.

•    Take part in fundraising activities

•    Be active on one or more service committees

•    Attend Regional/State meetings when possible

Fundraisers:

•    10K Raffle

•    White Cane Days

•    Groundhog Food Drive - Saturday before Super Bowl at thje Wellington Giant

Service Activities:

• Provide eye exams, glasses, eye operations  and special vision equipment
• Assist public schools with required vision and hearing screenings each Fall
• Hearing screenings
• Collect used eyeglasses
• Work with and fund the sight and hearing van
• Provide hearing exams, operations and hearing aids
• Support Bland Music Competition
• Johnny Downs Scholarship award
• Support for Remote Access Medical (RAM)
• Road cleanup (Adopt-a-highway)
• Volunteer and donate to SERVE
• Birmingham Green Picnic/Cookouts
• Bingo at Caton Merchant & Willow Oaks for the residents
• Christmas Holiday Party
