Would you like to be a member of the world's largest service organizations?
The International Association of Lions Clubs has nearly 1.5 million members in more than 44,500 clubs in 180 countries and territories. The Lions were founded in 1917 by Melvin Jones, a Chicago Businessman. At one of its early conventions, Helen Keller challenged the group to become "Knights of the Blind." That challenge was accepted, and much of the Lions' early work focused on helping people with sight problems. Today; the association has expanded its efforts to include hearing problems, diabetes awareness, youth activities, and community support, the Lions motto Is “We Serve."
