HISTORY: Chartered in 1939, we've served Littlestown and surounding area for 75 years.. Over the years, the club has supported a variety of community projects and endeavors. Eyeglasses for the needy, Boy Scout Troop 84, Littlestown Good Old Days, scholastic scholarships, and Littlestown Schools are among the many that have benefited from the Lions Club efforts.
SCHOLARSHIPS: We congratulate all the recipients of our Adams-Hanover Outstanding Young Woman Scholarships during the 50-year history of the program. The Club raised and provided scholarships totaling more than $80,000 during the program from 1962 - 2012. Since then, we have provided an annual scholarship for graduating LHS seniors.
EYEGLASS COLLECTION: The club is currently collectiong and turning in eyeglasses to Liions Club International. We have several drop off points in Littlestown at various businesses. These glasses are turned in and used to help those who are in desperate need of a pair of eye glasses that they may not be able to otherwise afford.
PLASTIC RECYCLING: We are collecting plastic and using that plastic to create park benches for public use in Littlestown.
MEDICAL EQUIPTMENT LOAN PROGRAM : This program is gaining a lot of attention. Currently we have medial equiptment that can be loaned out for "home use." Items include things like, wheel chairs, adult potty chairs, etc. This is helping people save some money that might otherwise come out of their pocket if their insurance won't cover it.
NEW MEMBERS: The Club is always looking for new members interested in suporting the Littlestown community. Prospective members are welcome at any Club meeting. More information is available by contacting Lion Dave Ozminhski at 359-4981, or email Lion Darrin Brown at darr6773@gmail.com for information.
