Welcome to the Lions Club of Hillcrest

Hillcrest Lions was established in May 1992.  We are a vibrant, happy Club with a stable membership and welcome new members.

Again, in 2018 to 2019, our major community projects include, the Anzac Day service, two  Garage Sales, *World Service Day in October,  and taking part in the Santa Parade organised by Glenfield Lions.

During the year our members help with street appeals for organisations like St Johns Ambulance, Pink Ribbon, Blind Week, Arthritis Appeal, Hospice Tree Remembrance, to name a few.

Our bi-annual garage sale is a great fund raiser.. We have heaps of bargains, something for everyone.  All goods have been donated and all proceeds returned to the community. Glenfield Lions always  help us with the heavy lifting.

Next year we hope we will be able to have our Anzac day service again this was cancelled this year because of the events in Christchurch. On the day a few members and other s still laid wreaths.

Another fund raiser this year was a Fashion Parade at Ballentynes in Albany, tickets sold out and $750 worth of Kmart and Bunnings vouchers were donated to Women’s Refuge. We hope to make this an annual event.

We collect your old reading spectacles which can be recycled and used in the Pacific Islands.

We meet at the Glenfield Memorial Hall, leased from Auckland Council.  We manage the hall hire and invite the community to make full use of this facility.  The contact number is: 09 443 5955 and Marlene is the name.

We are on Facebook.  Look for Hillcrest Lions Club - Glenfield Auckland.
