FROM THE PRESIDENT:

Greetings Lions Club!

Hard to believe that summer is close to ending. School is in full swing and the corn and soybeans are actually starting to change colors. One thing I love about living in Indiana is the definite change of seasons and I enjoy every one of them, Well, maybe not the shoveling snow part! It can snow until Christmas and then clear up as far as I am concerned.

Wanted to let you all know that Lion Jean Ann and I had the pleasure of attending a Lions Club Zone meeting where we got together with leadership of the clubs of Kokomo, Russiaville and Tipton. It was very interesting to hear about all the different service projects that the Lions clubs are doing as a whole, however let me tell you that the Greentown Lions Club is the busiest by far.

Most impressed by all the clubs was the fact that we are gaining so many new members. They all wanted to know what the secret was. A sincere thanks to Lion Mike Imbler for his and his team’s work on recruiting new Lions Club members. Gaining new members allows us to continue our projects to benefit our community, and allows us to dream of new ways to

serve.

As a reminder, our first meeting since the fair will be on September 14th where we will be welcoming District Governor Mike Careins as he inducts new members into our club. I hope to see you there.

Until we meet again, stay safe!

Thom Pemberton
