Annual Glenwood Springs Lions Club Picnic-June 21,2021
WONDERFUL evening was had by all. Good Lionism and great food what more can a person ask for!
Thank you everyone who came wish all members would have been able to come out. District Governor 6W Paul Stienfort and incoming District Governor 6w Joann Stienfort were our special guests. Paul presented to our own Darrell Stanley a 25-member Key and a Reaching New Heights award pin to President Dave Merritt. Joann gave us a nice motivational speech. She passed out her new District Govoner pin to all members. We had a quick meeting talking about the projects that will be starting on July 1.
July 1 Movie Night
July 1 will be our first movie night. We are planning providing hot popcorn and water for the movie. $5.00 is the hopeful donation for a bucket of popcorn and 2 water bottles. Sharon and Kathy or Collette will have microwaves to the evenings. Kathy will bring the table and such for our set up.
July 3rd pre registration at the Summit Canyon Store 4:30-6:30 p.m. David, Carrie and Collette will be doing the registration.
July 3rd Margie and Sharon will be preparing the food for the race. Kathy will bring the water cooler ready to go along with extra water and water cups. Margie you want any large plates (from the dinner or napkins) let me know have lots of silverware as well.
July 4th RACE DAY
- Starting Line set up will be done by: Rob, Lindell, Gary and Ken. 6:30 a.m.
- Registration table and chairs in Kathy’s van. I have 4 tables if you have a foldable table please bring may need it. Bibs and registration forms will be at the tables. The Ribbons are here and will be sorted and ready for the race winners. Have the flag for the first male and female winners. We will give out the race bags and the few hats out at the registration. Trash bags and any small items for the race
- Collette will bring the Karokie machine and extension cord to be used as the pa system.
- Collette will bring the tag board.
- Sara will bring the clock from Rifle. She will get it on Monday and we will have a couple days for set-up practices.
- Ken and Kathy are doing the water table and the turn around.
- Sara and Sharon are going to put the race sign up to mark the race so there won’t be any questions for the runners.
- Collette and Carrie will submitting the incoming runners. Kathy and Sara will be getting the bib numbers and posting them on the tag board.
- David will be the MC for the event.
- Prizes will be handled by Darrell and Kathy.
