Thanks to the Community Spirit Gaming Association the Gananoque
Lions Club is able to assist in the needs of the community.

Over several years now, the Community Spirit Gaming Association and the Gananoque Lions Club have been fortunate enough to have worked together to help support our Community.
Members of the Gananoque Lions Club assist at the Community Spirit Association and in return funds are then sent to the club in order to help and assist with the needs the Community.
It is a win-win situation and everyone benefits from this liaison.
Children and Youth.(including summer camps, sports teams ,figure skating, Youth Arts, Youth Curling, Toy Drives
Schools/Scholarships including Breakfast Programs, Vision and Audio Testing, GISS Hospitality
Local and Charitable Organizations – Salvation Army, Food Bank,
Health Needs: Canadian Diabetes, Home for the Deaf, Childhood Cancer Ramp for the Disabled at Joel Stone Park,
Other: Gibson Family Health Centre, Gananoque Refugee Settlement, Terry Fox Foundation and Ronald McDonald House

"Redefining Limitations" at Joel Stone Park/Beach
This ramp will allow those with disabilities easy and safe access to the St. Lawrence River. The Official Opening was on June 16th, 2018 at 11:00 A.M.

THE 1000 ISLANDS LIONS CRUISE-IN
This annual event is scheduled on the first Saturday in June is cancelled until further notice.
1000 Islands Family Ribfest
The 2020 Ribfest takes place the last weekend in June and will be cancelled until further notice.. This is a huge undertaking we have. The Gananoque Lions Club joins The Rotary Club in this very energetic fun filled event. Visitors from all over come for this annual event and enjoy music, entertainment for children, vendors and of course world famous ribs . "We will be Ribbin' & Rockin' at the 1000 Islands Family Ribfest.
BINGO: On HOLD - Bingo is now our largest Fundraising project. The Gananoque Lions Club helps supervise at Community Spirit Bingo Centre in Kingston, Ontario 900 Montreal Street. This is another way we can show our colours in the community. We are paid by the Community Spirit Gaming Association for our participation in this ongoing project.
GANANOQUE LIONS CLUB EVENTS
The Gananoque Lions members work together supplying, supervising, assisting and sponsoring Community Events throughout the year: By having and promoting these events we bring in many visitors to our community which in turn helps our local businesses. These events are always free.
LIONS PUMP-GAN-FEST: Lions Fall Event is cancelled until furthernotice. Includes: Colouring contest, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin hockey, seed spitting contest and pumpkin carving, complimentary cake and cupcakes. There are Local vendors on hand and the Lions BBQ tent offer hamburgers, hotdogs and soft drinks for sale. This event is always the last Saturday in September. No admission for this event.
VISION SCREENING TESTING: The Lions Club vision screening is cancelled until further notice due to Covid -19. Gan Lions started screening Children in Grades 1, 3 and 6 at St. Joseph's School and Linklater Public School in the Fall of 2015 and have continued the testing to date Fall 2019.
AUDIO SCREENING TESTING: The Lions club Audio Screening is cancelled until further notice. Lions Club initiated the audio testing with children at St. Joseph's School and Linklater Public School in the Fall of 2016. The Lions have completed 4 years of testing the children for Audio deficiencies to date Fall 2019.
CHRISTMAS PARADE: Lions have participated in this winter event for decades. The Lions Club provides a themed float and distribute candy along the parade route. This event will be held on December 5th, 2020. No admission for this event.
COMMUNITY LUNCHEON: Our first annual Senior's Luncheon started on December 1, 2018. We had a great turnout and the Club Members had a blast. We had dancers from Dreams in Motion and our Incoming Mayor, Councillors and Chief of Police on hand to serve at the luncheon. Due to Covid, this event will be postponed.

CNIB - Results of Gananoque Lions Club's participating in the Toll Road
Gananoque Lions have raised over $16,000 for post vision loss rehabilitation therapy programs and services, provided by our local CNIB in the Leeds Grenville Gananoque area. That's over 90 hours of help when it was needed by our neighbours, friends and family.
Our Club is one of five in the area of South Eastern Ont and one of four clubs on District 4A who hold these Toll Roads.
This May 11th, 2020 will be our 8th Toll Road, and will be the start of our local CNIB Vision Health Month activities.
