Current Project

Non-Invasive Ventilators - Wollongong Hospital

Following the successful Humidicrib Project (see story below), several Illawarra Lions Clubs are once again collaborating to deliver new equipment for Wollongong Hospital. Figtree Lions have  joined with six other local Lions Clubs to raise funds to purchase five modern Non-Invasive Ventilators (NIVs) and a central monitoring system for the Respiratory Ward. Illawarra Lions Clubs, with assistance from theAustralian Lions Foundation and the Lions Clubs International Foundation are working to raise $220,000 for this world-leading and life-saving technology.

Completed Projects

Neonatal Incubator Project - Wollongong Hospital

Figtree Lions joined six other local Lions Clubs to purchase four modern incubators for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Wollongong Hospital. Illawarra Lions Clubs, with assistance from the Australian Lions Foundation and the RFBI raised $150,000 to provide humidicribs with the latest technology and design features – helping mothers and babies to go home sooner. In addition, the donation funded purchase of several light therapy systems and three humidifiers.
