Completed Projects

Bulli Community Food Pantry - Bulli Community Centre
(November 2025)

Another GREAT example for the power of collaboration! The combined Illawarra Lions Clubs have all contributed to providing an $11,520 donation to the Bulli Community Centre’s Food Pantry. The Community Food Pantry supports people experiencing food crises with non-perishables, fresh produce, bread, frozen meals and other essential items. The Lions funds will be used to provide breakfast cereal and milk for the children of up to eighty families over the next six months. The funds were donated by the combined Illawarra Lions Clubs of Austinmer/Thirroul, Corrimal, Dapto, Figtree, Helensburgh, Oak Flats, Shellharbour Community, Wollongong and Woonona and deliver on two of Lions Global Causes – alleviating Hunger and supporting Youth. Non-Invasive Ventilator Project - Wollongong Hospital
(November 2025)

In another great collaboration, the combined Illawarra Lions Clubs have donated over $221,000 for the purchase of world-leading non-invasive ventilators for Wollongong Hospital. The donation was made possible by the fundraising efforts of Lions Clubs from Woonona, Corrimal, Wollongong, Figtree, Dapto, Oak Flats and Shellharbour, as well as generous grants from the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) and the Australian Lions Foundation (ALF).

Staff in the hospital’s Respiratory Unit are delighted with the new technology, which will undoubtedly save lives in the local community as well as easing pressure on the hospital respiratory team. Using the ventilators means that effective ventilation can be achieved without inserting a tube directly into a patient’s lungs, under sedation.
