In 2023, The Charlotte Lions Club's Scholarship program awarded two graduating students in 2023 who are attending a vocational program (college, or acceptable certified program. Scholarships are based upon financial need, academic achievement, and community service. Congratulations to Esabelle Robles and Abigail Eye who received the 2023 awards.
VOCATIONAL/SKILLED TRADES TRAINING SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
Once again, the Charlotte Lions Club is offering two $1,000.00 vocational/skilled trades scholarships to Charlotte area students (public school/home school/Eaton RESA) graduating in 2024.
Instruction in vocational skills offers hands-on training in a specific trade or job industry, can vary in length and may be obtained through a private trade or career school or public college and can lead to either an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or a certificate of completion.
A few examples of these training school programs are skilled trades; cosmetology; business and office administration; culinary arts; heavy equipment operators; and health care. Some different types of programs in vocational schools, which are offered in skilled trades, are for people interested in fields that include plumbing, carpentry, construction, welding, HVAC and motorcycle or auto repair.

2024 scholarship forms can be downloaded and printed from the link below. Forms are also available through the Charlotte High School Counselor's office. The Lions Club Scholarship Committee reviews the applicant's letters of recommendations, community service involvement, and the academic record. Recipients awarded a scholarship best represent the mission and goals of the Lions Club. The International Lions Club Mission Statement reads "We empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding."
