The Capitol City Lions completed a road cleanup on 11 April and collected eight bags of trash along with a plastic tub half full of trash. From left to right: Lions Stan Leczner, Keo Khamone, Melvin Nace, and Ron Cox with our photographer/driver being Lion Warren Fairess.  It was a pleasant and enjoyable day for a "walk".

 

 

 

 

At the Low Vision Research Foundation (LVRF) on 7 April 2018, Capitol City Lions President Melvin Nace (center) welcomes Dr. Ashley Deemer (left) the guest speaker from the Wilmer Eye Institute/John Hopkins Facility and Thomas Lenhart (right) provided a testimonial of the assistance he received from the LVRF Program to improve his everyday life.

We had two members attend both the North and South Leader Dog Program.  Lions Joyce Damask and Warren Fairess attended the South and Lions Melvin Nace and Ron Cox the North.  At the North, Lion Mel Nace, President, presented a donation of $250.00.  In back, Lion Ron Cox, front Lion Mel Nace and Kim Paulk with Leader Dog "Gemma".

At the 28 March 2018 meeting, President Mel Nace presented Lion Warren Fairess with a Lions Club International Gold Centennial Award for his contribution on growing our club during the Centennial Celebration,.  Lion Joyce Damask had the honor of doing the pining.

Katie Milton, Membership Sales Coordinator YMCA of Delaware attended our meeting on 28 March 2018 and talked about all the activities and programs that they have available for the community.  It was quite interesting and enlighened the members of the club.  Katie was welcomed by Club President Lion Melvin Nace.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

District 22-D Chairperson of Dabetes Awareness & Action Lion Gary Stump visited our meeting on 15 November and spoke on Diabetes.  It was a very timely and interesting meeting.  Lion Gary, on left, is welcomed by Capitol City Lions President Melvin Nace.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lion Candidate for the 1st Vice District Governor of District 22-D, on left, Lion Kenny Vincent, attended our meeting  along with his assistant Lion Melissa Clink.  Lion Kenny outlined a platform that he would like to see for Lions in the next few years.  Capitol City Lions President Lion Melvin Nace is on the right.

 

 

                    

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

President  Melvin Nace of the Capitol City Lions welcomes Charlotte Ward to the 20 September 2017 meeting at the Countrie Eatery.  She told us, from experience, of being a Prisoner of War at the age of seven in France during World War II.  The was very interesting and informative to hear history first hand.
