President Melvin Nace (right) of the Capitol City Lions presented 100% Attendance Award Pins to Lion Bill Vidrine and Lion Terri Strickland at our 16 August meeting at the Countrie Eatery. They received the awards for their attendance and contributions to the Capitol City Lions Club during the period 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017.
Left, Lion Pat Disharoon, Public Relations Chairperson for Lions District 22D visited the Capitol City Lions meeting on 16 August at the Countrie Eatery Restaurant. King Lion Melvin Nace, President of the Capitol City Lions, is on the right, welcomed her. Lion Pat explained what the district is doing to increase public relations and gave suggestions on what clubs can do to inform the public of the many things that the lions do to help the community.
Left, Chris Cooper, Development Director for Central Habitat on Humanity, visited the Capitol City Lions meeting on 20 July at the Countrie Eatery Restaurant. King Lion Melvin Nace is on the right. Chris explained the aspects of the Habitat on Humanity Program. It was very informative and an interesting program for the evening.
On 22 July 2017, the Capitol City Lions and friend completed a road clean up under a temperature of 91 degrees on a stretch of Andrews Lake Road and collected 13 bags of trash. Past District Governor Bill Kircher received an Arnall Patz Fellowship Pin for the many years he has been an advocate of low vision research with the Wilmer Eye Institute part of John Hopkins Facilities.

Pastor Liz Marrero of the United Methodist Church in Cheswold invited the Capitol City Lions to participate in their Community Day on 15 July. We had a table there and gave information on what the Lions do. From left to right, Lion Melvin Nace, Lion Joyce Damask, and Lion Warren Fairess.
The Capitol City :Lions installed their officers for the 2017-18 Lions year at a Joint Meeting on 19 June. The installation ceremony was conducted by District Governor Elect Charles Taylor from the Harrington Lions Club. From left are Director and 2nd Vice President Bill Vidrine, Lion Tamer Stan Leczner, Membership Chairman Ron Cox, Director Mary Ann Delgado, Recording Secretary Joyce Damask, Treasurer and 1st Vice Presidnt Warren Fairess, President and Reporting Secretary Melvin Nace. Director Bill Kircher and Tail Twister Mel Castell were unavailable for the picture.

Lion Warren Fairess was presented a plaque for his entry in the Environmental Photo Program by International President Robert Corlew at the Multiple Convention held in Gettysburg, PA. Lion Warrens entry of a blue butterfly on a butterfly bush won at the club, District 22-D and the Multiple District 22D. It will now be entered in all clubs worldwide at the International Convention in 30 June 2017.

Lions District 22D had their 14th Annual Walk foir Sight on 23 April 2017 at the Grove Park in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. It was sponsored by the Delaware Eye Institute and the Delaware Lions Foundation. In the front row is Senator Ernie Lopez, Lyndsey Warnick (Grand Marshall), a lions mascot (AKA Lion Mel Nace) from the Capitol City Lions. In the back row are Robin and Allan Warnick and Lion Delores Springer of the Milton Lions Club.
