Welcome from the Club President:
Welcome to the Lions Club of Calgary! It is a profound honor to serve as the Club President for this year 2026-2027.
Established on January 30, 1929, the Lions Club of Calgary holds the proud distinction of being the first and oldest Lions Club in Alberta. As we look forward to celebrating our 100th anniversary in just three years, our mission has remained as clear, simple, and powerful as it was on day one: "We Serve."
Our common goal of service to both our local and international communities is what truly binds our members together. Calgary is a vibrant, growing city, but with growth comes evolving community needs. We make a positive difference every day and are very proud of our service projects and donations to individuals, families, and charities. Over the years, we have been able to support hundreds of different initiatives!
Our club raises funds by catering for local companies and organizations. From outdoor, city-wide BBQs and Calgary Stampede Pancake Breakfasts to indoor events at Calgary's Lion's Village - our 90-unit seniors housing apartment complex for low-income seniors - we deliver great food for great causes.
Join Our Team
None of this is possible without the dedication of our passionate volunteers. The Lions Club of Calgary is currently seeking new members to join our team.
As a member, you will enjoy incredible benefits, including:
• Impact: Making a direct difference and helping your fellow citizens.
• Community: Active involvement in shaping the future of Calgary.
• Connection: Building lifelong friendships and meeting new people.
• Growth: Personal growth and leadership development.
• Experience: Gaining volunteer experience as part of Lions Clubs International, the world's largest service organization.
