Our Club History...
The Arima Lions Club started as the Trinidad East Lions Club, and was inaugurated on May 24, 1967 at Chung’s Restaurant Arima with 20 members. The North Lions Club of Trinidad, whose president was the late Dr. Ken La Roche, sponsored the club.
The club was charted on August 16, 1967 at the Scarlet Ibis Hotel, the charter being handed over by Lion Eugene Kasters of Suriname; the previous District Governor who was given the duty by the then District Governor Dr. Harry Carrington.
In those days the reach of Arima Lions was within the boundaries of the Pillars of Maturita in the East to Lopinot in the West and as far as La Fillette in the North to St Helena in the South.
