Dist 19E Eyeglass Recycling Satellite
The Lions District 19E Eyeglass Recycling Center Satellite has its open house today from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Any of you Lions viewing this on Saturday, Aug 28 are welcome to drop by in that time frame. If you have glasses that need to be recycled bring them along with you.
Most important, you can learn what the whole process is about and how we get donated glasses to those around the world who can not afford to purchase their own glasses. It takes the efforts of a lot of Lions just like you. Come see the beginning end of this process this afternoon at Valleyway and University in Spokane Valley.
The latest issue of the ROAR is up on the site on the "Lions News and Information" page.
Learn a little bit about our school supply donations on the Lions News & Information page.
The Spokane Central Lions Club office is staffed Monday-Friday from 9:30-11:30. The office is located at 1212 N. Howard, inside the Lilac Services for the Blind building.
Fall Forum Is Almost Here!
Last year Spokane Central Lions Hosted the Multiple Distristic 19 Fall Forum here in Spokane but now it is time for the new edition to be held in Pasco, WA at the Red Lion Hotel. The dates are October 1 & 2, 2010. You can get the official registration form from MD 19 here: bit.ly/bAMz1H
The Fall Forum is a time to meet Lions you've known in the past and Lions that are brand new to our organization. You will have the opportunity to learn how other clubs serve their communities and ways our club can serve better. In addition you can just have a good time!
The time is coming so don't miss this opportunity. The final deadline for registration is September 24 and no registrations or meal reservations will be taken after that. Click on the link above to see and print out the registration form with all the details or contact our chairperson, Lion Sandy Gerber.
Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.
