Congratulations to Lion Karen Bullock and Lion Wendy Beares, who each received the 2019 District 22W Governors Medal of Commendation from immediate past Governor Gary Beachy. The medal of commendation is awarded to lions who have demonstrated performance above and beyond what is normally expected. Karen and Wendy have taken the initiative to plan, organize and implement new programs of community outreach and led fundraisers in support of club goals.

Lion President Bob awarded a very special plaque to Lion Barb Mills in memory and appreciation of her late husband, Lion Russell K. Mills, Jr. A Lion for over 45 years, Russ served in nearly every role, including as Club President in 1996- 1997. A round of applause also to Lions Wendy Beares, Karen Bullock, Ted Burnett, Susie Coursey, Tom Eshelman, Diana Fraser, Barb Hayes, Charlie Hedges, Lee Miller , and Kathy Rixham who each received Certificates of Appreciation from outgoing President Bob Coursey for their service to the club this past year.

The Westminster Lions Club awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship to Lion Robert Hayes for his dedicated service and commitment to the ideals of Lionism. This is the highest honor conferred by Lions Clubs International. Lion Hayes is chairman of the club High School scholarslhiop awards probram and is a club past president The Melvin Jones award was presented on 11 January 2018 at the Westminster VFW by Barbara Mills, chairman of the Westminster Lions Club Melvin Jones selection committee.

Lion Barb Hayes was awarded the Lion of the Year award by President Tom Eshelman at the installation of officers on June 25.
At the July 23 meeting, she received a lovely plaque, presented by Past-President Tom Eshelman.
Barb runs the Westminster Lions Club Basket Bingo and Quartermania. In addition to that she is a member of pretty much every committee, and also helps with all of the club events. Plus she is Membership Chairman.
Barb is a very busy lady, and the Westminster Lions Club is lucky to have her.

The Westminster Lions Club’s 76th annual installation of officers and directors night took place June 25 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 467 in Westminster. Lion President Tom Eshelman turned over the gavel to the incoming president, Richard Crunkilton in the 2015 – 2016 swearing-in ceremony presided over by Past District Gov. Andrew J. DeMario, Sr. Lion Barbara Hayes was presented with the Westminster Chapter Lion of the year award and Lions Jeanette Morris and Richard Crunkilton were presented with certificates of appreciate for their efforts during the past year. At the 28 May 2015 meeting of the Westminster Lions Club, held at Westminster Post 467 VFW, Lion Russell K. Mills received recognition as the Westminster Lions Club recipient of the District 22W Honor Roll Award.
The District 22W Honor Roll Award recognizes Lions and Lionesses who have rendered outstanding service to their clubs and their communities at the “grassroots” level over an extended period of time, who exemplify the spirit of Lionism through their unselfish dedication and who are deserving of District-wide recognition for the efforts in support of Lionism.
