Service & Fundraiser Projects, 2021-22


2021 High School Scholarship Awards:  Two $1,000.00 Scholarships were awarded to a 2021 graduating senior each from Tumwater and Black Hills High Schools.    


2021 Annual Fugi Apple Sales Fundraiser: Fresh picked and boxed Fugi apples are to be transported to the Thurston County Food Bank warehouse from Eastern WA for distribution on  October 23-24. Tumwater Lions will pick-up its orders on October 23rd at noon. Deadline for orders is October 14, 2021. Other participating area lions clubs will also pick up pre-ordered boxes  for delivery to customers on the above dates.  Tumwater Liions net sales proceeds will benefit Camp Leo, a summer camp for diabetic youth, and other club service projects.

2021, 57th Annual Christmas Tree Sale

Corona Virus Restrictions will be enforced; social distancing and wearing of masks.


When: November 27th thru December 12th.  Length of sale may vary based upon available inventory.

Where: East parking lot Dollar Tree Store, Southgate Shopping Center, Tumwater

Hours: Week Days: 3 PM to  7PM  -- Weekends:  10 AM to 7 PM

Trees: Noble and Nodmann Firs

Height: 4+ to 7+ feet

Origin: All our trees were local area grown  by the Hunters Christmas Tree Farms

Proceeds: All Public Sale proceeds support local area service programs, such as the Union Gospel Mission Vision project,  hearing, diabetes, Homeless BackPacks (weekend food program for homeless middle and high school students),  Holiday Assistance and educational programs.*

“Why buy a tree anywhere else?”

Tumwater and Black Hills high school students can earn service hours required for graduation by volunteering at our tree stand during sales hours. Related sign-up is available at both schools.

Method of payment: Cash or local personal checks only.   Sorry, we have no provision to accept debit or credit cards.  ATM machines are located nearby.

Tumwater Lions club also makes quarterly cash donations to the Olympia Union Gospel Mission's Vision Program.  This program provides free eye exams and eyeglasses to low-income individuals.
