The Tumwater Lions Club provides a wide array of community services to the Tumwater community
LOCAL COMMUNITY SERVICES
Education, Tumwater School Districts
- Educational scholarships to graduating seniors at Tumwater and Black Hills High Schools.
- Community service opportunities for high school students to fulfill graduation requirements.
- Various youth enrichment programs.
- School sight and hearing screening through the Lions Health Screening Unit.
Sight
- Free eyeglasses to qualified persons through Olympia Union Gospel Mission.
- Collection of used eyeglasses for recycling at the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center(LERC).
- Public group sight screening through the Lions Health Screening Unit.
- Cataract surgery when qualified.
Hearing
- Free hearing aids to qualified persons through the Northwest Lions Foundation.
- Public group screening through the Lions Health Screening Unit.
Diabetes
- Financial support for Camp Leo, a summer camp for children with diabetes.
- One yearly scholarship for a Camp Leo attendee.
Community Assistance
- Toys and clothing for children in need through the Holiday Assistance program.
- Emergency financial aid for victims of house fires through the Tumwater Fire Department.
- Pass through financial support for Tumwater neighborhoods through the Tumwater Neighborhood Project Grant.
- Donations for local natural disaster needs.
- All Kids Win support for this local area program that provides weekend food to homeless and in need school students in Thurston Co.
