Meetings

The Tucson Rincon Lions Club (TRLC) was Chartered in 1953 to provide service to our community and around the world as well as leadership development opportunities for its members. Annual Candy Days in October and White Cane Days in January are two sources of our funds, along with our foundation that we use to provide low-income individuals with eye exams, glasses and hearing aids. 

Additional periodic donations are made to most of the non-profit organizations listed below.

Our members participate in various service activities including the following:

  • Assist seniors and others needing escort or rides to appointments and other locations; 
  • Preparing and serving evening meals for Camp Abilities, a sport camp for blind children; 
  • Pima County Adopt-A-Roadway road clean-up;
  • ​School Children Vision Screening;
  • ​Collect and donate food, clothing and school supplies for Youth On Their Own, as well as the Gospel Rescue Mission and other commuinity food banks;
  • Collect used eyeglasses and hearing aids for Arizona Lions Eyeglass Recycling Terminal (ALERT);
  • Sort, clean, neutralize, read the prescription (and label), inventory and package used eyeglasses for ALERT for worldwide free redistribution;
  • ​International Vision Missions where eye exams and glasses are provided to the poor;
  • Spend many hours a year, providing volunteer services for several churches:
  • Periodically organize and/or participate in health fairs where povide Diabetic and Vision Screening and other services; and
  • Collect and distribute holiday food baskets for needy families in Tucson.

Our club and its members support the service activities of many other organizations through donations to the following non-profit organizations:

Adult Loss of Hearing Association (ALOHA);

We meet every first and third Wednesday at ,The Hungry Fox, 4637 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85711, at 11:00 AM to order food and drinks. The meeting begins at 11:30 AM.
