The Townville Lions Club was founded in 1948, and since that time has supported the needs of others throughout Crawford County, Pennsylvania both through service and financial assistance. By truly embodying the Lions Club International motto, “We Serve”, the Townville Lions Club has been pivotal to meeting the needs of those in the community when they need it most.
Some examples of where the Townville Lions Club has supported the community for years are:
- The annual Junior High School Boys Basketball Tournament
- The annual High School All-Star games for both senior boys and girls
- Townville Lions Club Annual Voluntary Service Scholarships for high school seniors
- Sponsoring and supporting Maplewood Junior-Senior High School sports teams
- Annual Turkeys n’ Taters event, providing those in need with Christmas dinners
- Townville Old Home Days
- Numerous local, district, state and international projects for sight and diabetes
- Women's Service of Crawford County
- Leader Dogs for The Blind
The recent COVID-19 pandemic has had an effect on all Lions Clubs throughout the world, especially in the area of fundraising activities. The Townville Lions Club that has always thrived on in person, face-to-face interaction with community members must now pivot operations for both service and fundraising activities. Therefore, we are going to pursue online endeavors to raise much needed funds to continue to support those activities mentioned above as well as others that are brought forward by the community to continue our service mantra of, “Where There’s a Need, There’s a Lion.”
We would appreciate all those who visit our page to click on the links to support our virtual fundraisers. Additionally, if you could share all events with those you know it will be greatly appreciated. Every penny earned goes right back into supporting our community’s needs.
Thank you in advance for your support.
