How can I apply to obtain assistance for eyeglasses, eye exams or hearing aids?

Through Lions Clubs International, the Sun City Center/South Shore Lions Club sponsors programs that provide eyeglasses, eye exams or hearing aids to eligible individuals with demonstrable financial need, helping ensure better vision and eye health. 

You can apply for assistance with obtaining hearing aids or eyeglasses and/or an eye exam by downloading and completing the application. Eligibility is based on a combination of financial need and available funds.

To apply for assistance, download an application, Edit the downloaded WORD document with your information. Attach the completed application with any supporting information in an email to visionandhearingassistance@scclions.org.

The club’s Sight & Hearing Chair or volunteer will review your application and notify you of your status. Processing typically takes up to two weeks.

If approved for vision assistance, you may receive single vision, lined bifocal, or lined trifocal lenses. Some programs may also provide frames, a hard case, and a cleaning cloth. Services are usually coordinated with a local optometrist or through affiliated optical shops.
